“Nobody gives a rat’s ass about your solution if you don’t give a shit about the customer’s problems”

Let’s get down to business and figure out how to identify core problems of customers while creating your compelling sales pitch. Stick with me and patiently read the entire article. This will not only help you in your sales pitch but also give you incredible insights on your marketing campaigns.

Step 1: Objective of the deck

First and foremost, identify the end objective of the process so that you get the direction of where you need to head to.

For eg. let’s take one of our objectives:

The objective of identifying core problems of customers is to add this slide on the sales deck and send mails to set up meetings and establish a strategic partnership with companies.

It’s always Give & Take!

While the companies will provide us with job, internship & live project opportunities to our students that we train, we will provide them with a shortlisted list of students, matching their requirements on a quantitative as well as qualitative scale.

Step 2: Identify the EXACT Customer Segment

– Early stage startups that need a team

– Companies who wish to hire freshers

#KEYNOTE: For each customer segment, a separate deck is made.

Step 3: Customer segment’s core problems (we will take just one segment’s example)

Forget about what your product/service is. Assume you have no startup, no idea. Detach yourself from who you are and imagine yourself to be that customer segment.

#KEYNOTE: STEREOTYPE! (for eg. South Delhi = Rich brats who like showing off. It’s okay, I know it’s wrong but just go ahead and do it anyway for optimal marketing results)

Critical Problems for Early Stage startups that need a team:

– Can’t find Co-founders

– Can’t pay employees

– Slow growth of startup due to productive time wasted on redundant tasks by founders

Step 4: Correlate with your product/service (Now come back to reality)

Identify the core problems that are related to your product/service. In this case, it would be:

– Can’t pay employees

– Slow growth of startup due to productive time wasted on redundant tasks by founders

#KEYNOTE: Voila! You just found keywords to be used to seduce your potential customers. These keywords are also going to be really useful for digital marketing campaigns.
